Our business is Independently owned and operated. We hire local students or workers in reentry programs for summer work. We are also hopeful to offer an internship in the future. Most of the work is very physical and dependant on the tidal cycles. A typical tide cycle could allow 1-3 hours for harvesting and working the beds and 6-8 hours of culling product for market. In The future we would like to work towards sustainable offshore aquaculture for California suppling local and foreign markets shellfish and seaweed. We started operations in 1997. Working with local and state agencies we learned of the hurdles in our path. Working with other local oyster farms and business people we jumped over them. |
